Non-surgical skin tightening is, by definition, not surgery. It does not replicate the results of a surgical facelift and is not designed to reposition deeper facial structures or remove excess skin. Sofwave stimulates collagen in the dermis to improve firmness, texture, and mild-to-moderate laxity. The result is refinement—not transformation. Some patients, particularly those with significant skin redundancy, deeper structural descent, or advanced laxity, are better suited for surgical intervention by our plastic surgery colleagues. We discuss this candidly during consultation. Our responsibility is to recommend the treatment that aligns with your anatomy and goals, even when that recommendation is not a device-based solution.
Non-surgical skin tightening demands precision, safety, and predictability. Sofwave®’s 1.5 mm focal depth distinguishes it from deeper, more aggressive tightening platforms. Capital Skin and Laser specifically selected Sofwave for its high safety margin across all skin types, reduced recovery time, and predictable outcomes.
Before treatment, your skin will be cleansed, and a topical numbing cream will be applied for 30-45 minutes to enhance comfort. A Sofwave treatment session lasts approximately 45 minutes. You will feel controlled pulses of heat as ultrasound energy is delivered to your skin. Integrated cooling technology protects the skin’s surface throughout the procedure, allowing for effective treatment with improved tolerability. Many of our patients also elect to use Nitronox®, a self-administered nitrous oxide device offered at Capital Skin and Laser to maximize comfort.
Once treatment is complete, there is no lingering discomfort, nor is aftercare required. Most patients return to work, social activities, and exercise the same day. Mild redness or very subtle swelling may occur, but usually resolves within several hours. Makeup, sunscreen, and skincare can be resumed immediately unless otherwise advised.
While some patients notice early tightening, results develop progressively over 8-12 weeks as new collagen forms and remodels. Many patients achieve visible improvement after a single session, with results lasting up to one year.
